Looking for a ‘sport drink’ that isn’t filled with refined sugar, sodium and artificial flavours & colours? ┬áHere is one great solution: Brendan Brazier‘s recipe for ‘Classic lemon lime sport drink’

You may be familiar with Brendan’s ‘vega‘ line of all-natural sport performance products. He has also written a couple of great books on sport nutrition; namely The Thrive Diet and Thrive Fitness

Being a professional Ironman triathlete and a two-time Canadian 50km Ultra Marathon Champion, I think he knows a thing or two about sports nutrition!

Classic lemon lime sport drink

Combine in a blender:
2 large Medjool dates
2 cups coconut water
1 tsp coconut oil
Juice from 1/2 lemon
Juice from 1/4 lime
Sea salt to taste; Celtic or Himalayan {broad spectrum mineral salts}

To boost electrolytes, add 1 tsp dried dulse flakes.

This beverage will fuel you for immediate (dates) and prolonged (coconut water) activity.
