COACHES

Coach - Caitlin Foisy

Welcome to the club! Whether you are a recreational runner or a competitive runner, this is the club for you!  I am excited to be head coach with the Georgian Triangle Run Club this year. I have run competitively with Queen’s University on the Track and Field and Cross-County teams, and most recently on the Georgian College cross-country run team. I know the importance of having a solid development program in a run club and the benefits to team running. I have coached running, downhill skiing, and mountain biking. I am currently also a member of Team Running Free, and I am looking forward to running track workouts with the GTRC. I am very happy to be able to help bring the running community together here in the beautiful Blue Mountains. This area has so many like-minded active people and wonderful trails for running. I hope to see you out!

Coach - Nick Brindisi

I was lucky enough to have grown up here in the Georgian Triangle in the Town of Collingwood. I have been running fairly continuously for 44 years now beginning in public school. My years at CCI exposed me to some great coaching and a love of Track and Cross Country running.

I'm a veteran of many road races from 5K to Marathon and many ultra trail races from 50K to 161K in length. Most recently I've concentrated on ultra trail running with racing at events such as the Pick Your Poison 50K, Dirty Girls 12 hour, Creemore Vertical Challenge 50K, Halliburton 100 mile & 50 mile, North Face ECS 50 mile and the Sinister 7 100 mile in the Crowsnest Pass Alberta. I believe we can push the boundaries of what's possible.

Whether your goal is to simply run for fitness, train for a race, or even train for a specific time in an event I'm sure I can help you get there. Let's get out there and enjoy our Georgian Triangle! Cheers!

Retired and enjoying life in Wasaga Beach

As a GTRC road coach I am delighted to share with you nineteen years of road running experience and  six years of developing and assisting in Learn To Run clinics at Beach Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. I started distance running inadvertently while rehabbing my sore knees from soccer and poor training techniques. I went from not being able to run a kilometre to doing the NYC Marathon ten months later. My focus is on training to improve and have fun running while minimizing risk of injuries. My joy comes from seeing beginner runners develop and complete their first 5K and from hearing of the goals and accomplishments of all runners during group training runs.

In all I have complepleted 13 marathons including 7 Bostons the latest being the 2012 Boston Marathon, interspersed with 4 ATB 30Ks, 3 Halfs and mixture of 10 Mile, 10K and 5K races. I am extremely passionate about running and helping develop and promote running sports in the Georgian Triangle area while combining this love with charitable fund raising.

Our group road runs will mainly be long, slow distance (LSD) runs of varying distances according to attending runners' needs. They are conducted on weekends by a coach and/or run leaders covering beginner, novice and experienced levels and with safety and inclusiveness in mind ... no runner will be left to run alone. As the club grows and runner needs are identified I am prepared to lead a Thursday evening group run for speed-work and/or hill-work training. Come on folks, I can hardly wait!
